Neenah Paper Promotion
The design brief for this piece was simply to ‘Make paper cool again.’ I chose to create a promotion for Neenah Papers, a paper company close to my home town. I knew right away that I wanted the piece to be primarily made of paper. I did a lot of hands-on research about the ways paper could be bent, folded, cut, and curled. Ultimately I decided to curl half inch strips of paper and bend them in ways to create beautiful abstract shapes. The piece measures 18x24 inches and uses over 900 feet of half inch strips of paper. I envisioned the piece hanging in the lobby at Neenah Paper Corporate headquarters. I wanted viewers to be intrigued when the piece is viewed from a distance and in awe when viewed up close.
