The Colony

The design brief requested that I create a game that was based on specific topic. The topic that I was given was ‘colonization’. I decided to make a card game for ages 15 and up. The game is played with 2-4 players where each player is dealt a hand of 7 cards. The players will take turns one at a time and they will start by laying down a resource card (wheat, lumber, rock, and water). They will use those resources to lay Settlers and other characters. The first player to have enough resources and characters to lay their King Card wins. Players can sabotage each other by sending actin cards like floods or thieves to other players’ lands.
